The low season of June through October has many names in the Andaman Sea coastline. The Low Season is often referred to the Rainy Season in Krabi, but the more marketing savvy like to call it the Green Season. Whatever you call it, this is normally the time for small business owners to take a break from the previous high season, recharge their batteries, and start preparing for the upcoming high season. For many, this means maintenance and repairs, for others a new addition to an existing business or other expansions.
The Low Season is also time for new business owners and investors to search for sites to establish new businesses. Whether it is a guesthouse, restaurant, or beauty parlor, the low season is the period when most properties change hands or new leases are signed.
Krabi becomes a beehive of activity as business owners are hard at work renovating their businesses and new owners building their new shops in preparation for the all awaited onrush of customers the following season in November. New investors normally start their property searches in June-July to give them three to four months to set up their new venture. Those that arrive much later than July, will find the choice locations to have been taken, and pricing less flexible as the high season approaches.
The low season in Krabi now sees an increasing number of customers each year, with multiple direct flights from Singapore, Malaysia and connecting service from Australia. But even as the Low Season sees higher occupancy rates, it is still the prime hunting season for those looking for commercial properties in Krabi.
